Midwest Vice is an excellent offering from Penrose Brewing in Galena, Illinois. It’s called a Juicy Midwest IPA and it definitely delivers. It’s listed at 7.5% ABV and uses Cryo Ekuanot, Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe hops. Vice has a nice pale color, the aroma is terrific, great taste and is all you could want in this style. I’d put Midwest Vice in the team photo of great Illinois Hazy/Juicy IPA’s! It’s been a long while since I’ve been out there to Penrose, probably 5 years or so. I remember having a few really good sours while there, I won’t sleep on their other offerings next time!
