If you listen to the podcast, you’ll know that this week Beermiscuous located at 2812 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago is having a special Taste Of The 11th District. 10% of the sale of great local beers like Half Acre’s Daisy Cutter, Begyle’s Blonde, Dovetail’s Hefeweizen, and Metropolitan’s Flywheel will go to the Common Pantry in the district.
The promotion will run through Monday, July 5th so when going to your in-laws for a BBQ this weekend and you know they’ll have bad beer, stop over to Beermiscuous to support a local business, local breweries, and most important, our community members. Just make sure that your brother in-law goes and buys his own 4-pack and doesn’t drink all of yours!

Begyle’s Blonde Ale is a crowd pleaser that everyone can enjoy. Locally sourced Midwest honey is used in the Blonde Ale and adds a nice sweetness to this. It is a 5.4% ABV with 20 IBU’s. Nice clean aftertaste and would be perfect on a nice day outside!

The Hefeweizen from Dovetail is another terrific beer that everyone can enjoy. You get the banana/clove taste in this true to style Hefeweizen that is very refreshing on a Summer day. This clocks in at 4.8 ABV so you can enjoy more than one of these.

Flywheel Pilsner from Metropolitan is their version of the classic German Pilsner and this one is really good! Flywheel has a wonderful spicy aroma from the hops, the flavor is spot on with the hops sharing space with the bread like flavors from the malt. Drinking this makes me wish my father were still alive so we could enjoy this one together! Flywheel has an ABV of 5.5% with 40 IBU’s.

Batting cleanup is Daisy Cutter from Half Acre. Daisy Cutter belongs on the Mount Rushmore of Chicago craft beer! 12 years after it first came out is still as wonderful as it was when you first had it. This is a West Coast Style Pale Ale and has the pine/citrus notes that made you fall in love with the Pale/IPA style years ago. Daisy Cutter weighs in with 5.2% ABV and has 60 IBU’s.
All 4 of these beers are outstanding! There is something for everyone in this mix-pack and everyone from a non beer snob to a fanatic will be able to enjoy this one! The promotion runs through next Monday, July 5th so head over to Beermiscuous and pick some up!
