I’m going to give away a brand new Beer In Front baseball hat this week. To enter, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the new medical issue I talked about in the show this week. Use “HAT” as the subject on the email, and I’ll pick a winner at random next Wednesday at 12:00 Noon.
Big Episode 60 this week! I’ll talk about some health issues, have a Cane And Ebel for the first time in years. That was still a really good beer! I’ll also call out some Jagoffs that aren’t the usual ones I name.
Shout-Out this week to the Micro Break Podcast, check that out when you get a chance, it’s a good one!
This week I have the old school IPA from Lagunitas as my Beer In Front. I have been having some health issues so I didn’t have other beers however I’ll make up for it with extra Jagoffs!
Great show this week! I spoke to the women behind the Bills and Brews Babes website and Instagram feed. By all means you should check them out! I also talked a little about my barrel aged fest and thanks to my friend Ben, I had the great Heady Topper!
It’s been a while since I’ve had a Vallejo from Half Acre. This is their Summer IPA and it is a good one! Vallejo pours a pale golden color, has a aroma to me of a dank, piney combination. The taste is the same, it’s a good combination of flavors, but for me, I get mostly pine with a little grapefruit. There is good carbonation here but not over the top, Vallejo finishes a bit dry with a little bitterness on the back end. I’m drinking this out of a can and was canned 8 days before I’m drinking this. Vallejo is a 6.7 % ABV West Coast IPA and is a good one, I’m glad it’s back for the Summer!

Good show this week or a bad show if you liked the interviews and chats. This one is all me. I’ll have the wonderful St. Bernardus Prior 8 as my Beer In Front. I’ll also talk about beers from Hopewell, Grumpy Troll, and Seipp’s.
Great show this week! I’ll speak with Ruvani DeSilva, you may know her as Amethyst Heels from social media. We talk about her writing and the Austin, Texas beer scene. I’ll go way back in the day and have a Guinness Draught as my Beer In Front as well! You can find Ruvani on Twitter and Instagram @Amethyst_Heels and her website at https://craftbeeramethyst.com and https://culturalcuckoo.com
I’m a sucker for an Italian Pilsner so when I saw that Pipeworks was putting one out in collaboration with famed Chicago grocer and sandwich royalty J.P. Graziano, I had to grab this one! Alla Salute does not disappoint. It has a nice pale gold color, good aroma, and the taste is terrific. It’s slightly more malt forward than other Italian Pilsners but balances out nicely at the end with the hops. Alla Salute is nicely carbonated and has a clean finish that makes me want more! I grabbed this directly from Pipeworks and according to their website it is sold out, so hopefully you can find this one around town and if you see it, pick it up! I only wish I had a damn sandwich to go with Alla Salute!
There will be a new episode of the podcast out tomorrow. To catch up on past shows…..
Tonight I’m having a cider from Uncle John’s called Melded. On the latest episode of the podcast, Cider Brian of Chicago was discussing this one in detail and he sold me on this! Melded is a terrific cider that has a wonderful flavor from the blend of American, French, and English cider apples. It has a nice tart bite to it, but it is not overwhelming at all, it balances well with the sweetness from the apples. Melded is lightly carbonated and has a good dry finish. If you are looking for a change of pace from a beer, I would definitely recommend this one. It’s sold in 500ML bottles with an ABV of 6.5 % and is around $6. I want to thank Brian for suggesting Melded, it’s a winner! To hear Brian and other amazing people from around the world talk about their Beer In Front, check out the latest episode of the podcast below or wherever you listen.
The new episode is out and is terrific! I have 15 people discussing a beer and cider that they are enjoying. I’m going to list the people in order who graciously took time out to record a spot, and the brewery they talked about. All are worth a follow and checking out their fine work on their own.
